We would like to remind you to join our next JENY Statewide Collaborative conference call taking place on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 11:00 am to 12 pm. The call-in number for this session is 1-800-236-9788. No prior registration is required, but please be sure to reference IPRO when you do call in.

During this conference call, we will hear exciting presentations from senior leader team members about activities in which they have had particular success. Participants will share goals, system changes implemented, as well as any success stories and ways they overcame challenges to achieving their goals. Four different hospital teams, each covering one of the four CMS/JCAHO topics, will present: Maimonides Medical Center will discuss AMI and share information on how they combined the use of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and standardized orders to ensure early administration of beta blockers and aspirin upon arrival and discharge in addition to ensuring that patients receive smoking cessation advice. St. Barnabas Hospital will discuss their Quality Initiative program for pneumonia care, including how they successfully combined educational interventions with concurrent reviews. Benedictine Hospital will address SIP and share pointers for acquiring physician "buy-in" for quality assurance programs as well as creating evidence based practices in the OR. The team from Lourdes Hospital will present on CHF and share information on their disease management program which has cut their Length of Stay in half, helped to reduce their CHF re-admission rates, and enabled them to successfully conduct concurrent chart reviews.

We encourage as many of your staff to participate as possible since this is a great opportunity for team members to learn from each other and share experiences as well. You don't want to miss this call!!!
