(Advance for Nurses edition)Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) recently announced winners of the 2007 H2E Environmental Excellence Awards, recognizing 128 health systems, hospitals and healthcare organizations for environmentally conscious practices. The facilities and groups were cited for eliminating mercury, reducing overall waste and making environment-friendly practices a priority.
In addition, the H2E Environmental Leadership Circle inductees were announced. These 18 members were permanently lauded as committed to practicing healthcare in an environmentally responsible manner. Awardees were announced at H2E's annual meeting in Washington, DC, and will be presented at the May summit in Minneapolis.
